Hopsrig Collector Substation Grid Connection

SP Energy Networks are proposing the construction of a new 132kV wood pole overhead line in Dumfries & Galloway, approximately 11km east of Lockerbie. The development is needed to connect the proposed Hopsrig Collector substation (to be consented separately) to the electricity transmission network at Ewe Hill substation (approximately 4km).

The project is currently at the routeing consultation stage, before progressing to Screening then Environmental Impact Assessment (if required) and subsequent application for consent.

During this consultation stage we are seeking views on the route selection process we have so far undertaken and the preferred route that has been arrived at.

The Routeing Consultation Report and associated materials are available to download here from 15th March.

Due to current restrictions, hard copies will not be made available.  Online consultation events will take place at the times noted below, where the project team will be available to answer any queries on the proposals.
