SnowdoniaSnowdonia National Park Authority

SP Energy Networks and Snowdonia National Park Authority signed an agreement, which reaffirmed their commitment to working in partnership together for the benefit of the environment and the National Park.

The Accord defines clear principles of how the two organisations will work together within the National Park and builds on the Accord signed by ScottishPower and the Park Authority five years ago.

Following the 2002 agreement regular meetings have been held between SP Energy Networks and SNPA’s Forestry, Ecology and Planning officers to determine the best practice in working within the National Park and to do so without damaging the environment and its rich biodiversity.

The Accord will support the statutory purposes of Snowdonia National Park and will aim to enhance the environment, support social well- being of local communities and help to sustain the economy within Snowdonia.

On behalf on ScottishPower, Guy Jefferson said "We are pleased to be working with the Park Authority and are grateful for their environmental expertise and assistance. In maintaining the Accord we seek to strengthen our relationship which helps us to deliver on our objectives and enhance further, our attempts to improve the environment in Snowdonia."
