We are advising road users of an upcoming road closure on the B9097 at Westfield substation to allow essential works to take place.
The closure will begin on 29 January 2026 and is expected to remain in place until 24 April 2026. This work is required to carry out a Scottish Water diversion as part of our ongoing infrastructure improvements.
An official diversion route, agreed with Fife Council, will be in place and clearly signposted. Please note that this diversion is approximately 15 miles and may add extra time to your journey. We appreciate that many drivers will use local knowledge to find alternative routes, but we ask that those unfamiliar with the area follow the signed diversion for safety.
To help road users plan ahead:
- Advanced signage will be installed from 8 December 2025
- Electronic boards will be in place from 5 January 2026 to provide real-time updates
We understand this may cause inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience while we complete these essential works to maintain and improve the local network.
