Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 21 September for a period of 26 weeks as work takes place to connect a new battery energy storage site (BESS) to the electricity grid at Longannet.
To facilitate the connection, SP Energy Networks will install approximately 5.5km of underground cable between the BESS site and the former Longannet Power Station, where a connection will be made to the overhead line circuit.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place 24hrs around the clock from Monday – Friday with a 30mph speed limit in place to reduce the risk to the workforce and allow work to be carried out safely and efficiently.
The work is being carried out by Maxwell Construction on behalf of SP Energy Networks.
