Ed Miliband meets SP Energy Networks Apprentices

09/10/2014

Leader of the Opposition, Ed Miliband, met with our SP Energy Networks apprentices at Manchester College on 22nd September 2014 to publicise The Labour Party’s commitment on creating more apprentice opportunities should they win the General Election next year.

Our apprentices are part of the “Talent Bank” initiative set up by SP Energy Networks in partnership with the National Skills Academy and partner Overhead Line Contractors to increase the pipeline of talent into our business and encourage some of our contractors to invest in skills for the longer term.

We currently have 25 apprentices in the scheme. Mr Miliband commented on the positive attitude and degree of engagement he received on the visit and remarked the future of the industry was in good hands.
