Sp Energy Networks' Techy Bites Session For South Lanarkshire

27/12/2017

We recently held a Techy Bites session in Auchlochan retirement village in Lesmahagow, where locals learned about the latest technological developments in engineering.

Around 35 members of the public attended the event, which took the form of an informal drop in session, and gave the community a chance to meet our team and to find out more about work that is being carried out to the transmission electricity network in the area.

We are currently involved in a number of major transmission projects, including the connection of windfarms. This will allow the flow of renewable energy in and around the network and upgrades to future proof the transmission network.

Cathie Hill, Stakeholder and Development Manager for Major Projects at SP Energy Networks, said: “During maintenance and upgrade projects, we work closely with communities to ensure they’re kept informed and up to date with progress. The Techy Bites session allows us to give a little extra something back to Lesmahagow and South Lanarkshire, by informing locals of the extent of work that’s involved in our major transmission projects.”

On 31st July 2024 we published our 23/ 24 Annual Vulnerability Report covering performance for Year 1 of RIIO- ED2.

‘‘The year 2023/24 has been foundational for our ED2 programme. We worked hard to build on the solid foundation established in ED1 to evolve our partnerships, tools, and processes that will allow us to achieve our expanded ED2 ambition. At the same time, we have continued to focus on customers’ pressing needs, from delivering excellent support during emergencies to offering a range of extra help aimed at improving their welfare.’
