UK HOSPICES RECEIVE OVER £486,000 DONATIONS FOR VITAL PATIENT CARE

03/02/2023

We helped raise over £486,000 for local hospices including St Roccos Hospice in Warrington, St Lukes Hospice in Winsford, Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham and Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester through the annual Christmas tree recycling scheme. The money raised will fund crucial care services and help the hospices continue to carry out important work in the communities we serve.

Staff members from our Mid Cheshire, Wirral and Dee Valley districts volunteered to collect Christmas trees across these areas for a small donation. The trees collected from local residents will be used for wood chipping or recycled by local centres, where they’re often then used to create things like running paths or general compost.

Liam O’Sullivan, SP Manweb Licence Director at SP Energy Networks, said: “It was a privilege to help raise vital funds for these essential hospices. The money raised will provide funding for critical end of life care and help families through their toughest days. We’re committed to supporting the local communities in these areas and were proud to be part of the team of volunteers to help raise these crucial funds”.
