SP Energy Networks have completed the construction of a new 132kV wood pole overhead line in Dumfries & Galloway, approximately 6km north of Carsphairn. The development is needed to connect the consented Benbrack Wind Farm to the electricity transmission network.
This project was consented by Scottish Ministers on 27th October 2022. A copy of the decision can be found below and on the Energy Consents Unit (ECU) website (Reference no. ECU00003439).

Work commenced in November 2024 and successfully progressed to its completion in August 2025 when the overhead line connection was energised.
