SP Energy Networks have recently successfully connected Benbrack Windfarm into the electricity network.
The wind farm is located to the north of Carsphairn in Dumfries and Galloway with the connection including the construction of a collector substation at the wind farm along with a wood pole overhead line being erected which has connected into a nearby steel tower overhead line which routes back to New Cumnock Substation where the clean energy feeds into the grid for wider use.
The energy generated by the windfarm can supply up to the equivalent of 130,000 average homes.
