Following initial consultation in 2024 and 2025, we will undertake further environmental impact scoping and submit a Scoping Opinion Request to Scottish Ministers in late 2026 to determine the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment. Local communities and stakeholders will then have a further opportunity to comment on the proposals through a second round of consultation in late 2027.
Following consideration of feedback received, we will finalise our proposals and present the finalised project at public in-person events, providing an update on consultation feedback, how it has informed the final proposals in early 2029.
The Section 37 application will then be submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit in mid-2029. Subject to consent being granted, construction would commence in early 2031.Our projected timeline is as follows:
