SP Energy Networks is proposing to construct a new 132kV substation at Holm Hill in Dumfries and Galloway, approximately 2.5km north-west of Carsphairn and 12 km south-east of Dalmellington. An application for consent was submitted to Dumfries and Galloway Council under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (as amended) in November 2025.
