Incentive on Connections Engagement (ICE) Submission

The needs of large, commercial connection customers can be different to the needs of smaller, domestic connections customers. To address this, Ofgem introduced ICE (Incentive on Connections Engagement) which ensures that Distribution Network Operators (such as SP Energy Networks) continually listen, adapt and change to meet the needs of this type of customer.

Incentive on Connections Engagement (ICE) Plan

2019-2020 is the fifth year of our OFGEM regulatory period called RIIO-EDI (Revenue= Incentives + Innovation + Outputs) for the electricity distribution network industry.   The Incentive on Connections Engagement (ICE) forms part of that regulatory framework and was designed to ensure Distribution Network Operators recognise that large commercial connections customers have different requirements to smaller domestic customers.  This incentive is designed to promote a robust stakeholder engagement programme that delivers a work plan in the areas that matter most to our customers and stakeholders.

We are pleased to publish our Incentive on Connections Engagement (ICE) plan for 2019/20, which this year focuses on innovation and the opportunities our changing energy landscape can bring to our Connections Customers.   In addition, our work plan forms a journey of continuous improvement as we ensure our approach to connections evolves dynamically with our customers’ requirements and aspirations.   Our 2019/20 work plan has been designed and created based on feedback received from our Connections Stakeholder Panel, Land and Planning Stakeholder Panel and engagement events held through 2018/19.
