Tree Safety

This safety information is for anyone who may have trees growing on their land close to overhead powerlines.

Unfortunately every year people get seriously injured and even killed when undertaking tree works near overhead lines. It is important to remember that all of our tree cutting staff and contractors are specifically trained to carry out tree cutting works in close proximity to overhead lines.

Tips for staying safe -

  • Do not climb or allow others to climb trees which are in close proximity of overhead lines.
  • Never attempt to undertake tree cutting work near an overhead line either yourself or with your own contractor.
  • Contact us immediately if you think your trees are getting too close to an overhead line. We will assign you a local tree cutting co-Ordinator who will arrange for any works required to be carried out by our trained tree surgeons.
  • Any tree cutting works on your land are provided by SP Energy Networks FREE OF CHARGE.
