Our electricity grid was originally built for very different lifestyles to what we know today. When it was overhauled in the 1950s we had an average of six devices per household. Nowadays that’s closer to thirteen per household! And that electricity demand is only going to grow, with expectations it will increase by 50% in the next decade and double in 25 years.
