Winter Awareness Campaign

Building and maintaining awareness of our role and ensuring you know what to do in the event of a power cut is a key challenge for us. That’s why we continue to work hard to build a better understanding of who we are and what we do.

Throughout the year we aim to ensure all of our customers know to contact us should they experience a power cut.  We've pulled out all the stops to ensure we get the message out to as many poeple as possible so you'll see our campaign on buses, on trains, on the high street and online.

socialSocial Media

The use of targeted social media advertising allows us to be specific about the audience we are trying to reach. We are also advertising in relevant sections of available Council websites in order to reach people who may be or know of someone in need of a little extra help.

In addition to roadside, transport, online and social media advertising, we sent posters and leaflets to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals, dentists, MP/MSP offices, Citizen Advice Bureaux and local authority housing offices.

And just to ensure we don't miss anyone we've even sent teams of fully trained staff to distribute literature and promotional items on busy high streets and shopping centres.  Postcards which include our emergency contact details were hand delivered to homes in areas which have been identified as having a high concentration of people who may need a little extra help during a power cut, or require additional support services.

Need a little extra help?

We also use our campaign channels to promote our free Priority Services Register (PSR) urging those who may need a little extra support to get in touch with us.
